I’ll be starting my second year of university this week and obviously millions of other people are headed back to school as well so I thought this post could really come in handy for some people! These product suggestions are also great for girls who are starting to experiment with makeup as they are easy to use, easy to find, and affordable!
So first, you’re gunna want to start of with a smooth slate. After you’ve washed your face, apply some moisturizer. This is the L’Oreal Youth Code Dark Spot Correcting and Illuminating Day Cream which has SPF 30! This will help brighten up your complexion and help erase some of those pesky dark spots over time. After that, you might want to prime your face before you apply your foundation or BB cream to help create a barrier between your makeup and freshly cleansed skin! This is the L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother (oil-free). I love this one because it comes in a couple different variations (i.e. one containing SPF, one for added moisture, age defying, etc.)
Now here are some products that will help perfect your complexion! 🙂 This Garnier BB Cream has amazing coverage but is still light and fresh on your skin, great option opposed to a heavier foundation which you might sweat off during your long school day. The Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer is a “heavy duty” concealer which will really help hide any blemishes that you don’t want to be seen. And to really brighten up your face and hide any eye bags the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is a great under eye concealer! Now, to lock it all in place, set it a powder such as the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
If you want to add some colour to your face, here are some great options! The NYC Sun ‘n’ Bronze Bronzing Powder is great for contouring or bronzing up the face, plus you can use the lighter colour on your eyelid and the brown colour in the crease of your eye just to add some simple dimension while skipping a step in the morning 🙂 And the Maybelline Master Hi-Light Hi-Lighting Blush is like a blush and highlighter in one! It’s one of my favourite blushes.
Now onto the eyes! The L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara is one of my faves (L’Oreal has some great mascaras. I really like Essence’s mascaras too!) This L’Oreal liquid eye liner is also one of my favourites, easy to use and can make either a thin or thick line. For eyebrows, Essence has a couple of different brow products to choose from, I had been using their eyebrow pencil for a little bit and is a great drugstore alternative to the Anastasia Brow Wiz! To really open up your eyes, this nude colour Rimmel eyeliner is great for lining your waterline to create a natural bright-eyed look!
Here are some great everyday lip colours!
- NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops
- Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Soothing Sorbet
- NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair
And there are my back to school makeup suggestions! Hope you enjoyed 🙂 What are some of your back to school makeup must haves?!
