Cetaphil DermaControl Review & GIVEAWAY!

HI GUYS! Long time no talk, eh? (Yea, some Canadians really do say eh.)

I’ve got an exciting post for you that is not only a product review but a giveaway as well! Cetaphil was not only generous enough to provide me with these products but to provide an awesome prize for my readers as well!

That being said I want to start off with a few disclaimers.dermacontrol-main

  1. These products were sent to me but all my opinions are completely honest and my own.
  2. Since skincare is so unique thing to each person, if these products did/didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it will/won’t work for you. Skin is just so damn complicated, am I right ladies??

The two products that Cetaphil sent me are the cleanser and moisturizer from their DermaControl line which is targeted at oily/combination and blemish prone skin. I have combination, acne prone, sensitive skin – awesome combo right?!

Cetaphil DermaControl Foam Wash

Product Claims My Thoughts
·       Hydrating wash I didn’t find it particularly hydrating. Almost felt dry just because of the way it feels when you’re applying it to your face.
·       Non-drying, soap-free foam I definitely agree, the foam did not lather (can be a good thing – means no sulfates) but it felt very strange. It felt like I was just rubbing water on my face and it didn’t really leave my skin feeling clean L
·       Rinses with no residue True!
·       Non-comedogenic, non-irritating I’m not sure if I can attest to this. My skin seems to always be somewhat irritated so I can’t tell if this product helped or hindered me at all.

Over all this cleanser was not my cup of tea and I will not continue to use it 😦

Cetaphil DermaControl Moisturizer

Product Claims My Thoughts
· Ceramide technology replenishes skin’s moisture barrier I did find it moisturized nicely.
· Broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection This moisturizer is SPF 30 – always a plus!
· Absorbs quickly with long-lasting hydration It does absorb quickly and provides nice hydration!
· Lightweight, non-greasy matte finish Yes, yes, and yes!

Even though this product does seem to meet all of its claims, sadly, it just did not work out for me. It made me breakout and that’s just not cool #SensitiveSkinProbs. Obviously, I will not continue using this product.

Personally, I think these products would be great for someone with oily skin opposed to someone with oily/combo skin.

Even though these products didn’t 100% meet my needs I still want to give you the chance to win them because they may meet yours! Unfortunately, this giveaway is for those who are currently residing in Canada, sorry guys! 😦

Thank you so much for reading and good luck ❤

Softlips CUBE Review and GIVEAWAY!! (NOW CLOSED)

As you can tell by the title, I am hosting my first ever giveaway! Softlips was kind enough to send me two of their new Lip CUBES in the flavours Berry Bliss and Vanilla Bean. They were also generous enough to supply a cute little giveaway for my awesome followers!

But first let’s talk a little bit about these lip CUBES! (Disclaimer: these products were sent to me by Softlips but all thoughts, statements, and opinions are truly my own!)

Berry Bliss (left and Vanilla Bean (right).

These little babies can be found at most drug stores (i.e. Walmart, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc.) and sell for $4.99 (contains 6.5g.) They’re like a cube version of the EOS lip balms!
